She Flies Anyway

A piece of my heart –
There’s a girl with stars in her eyes,
Dreams that shimmer like morning skies.
With books in hand and questions bold,
She steps each day into stories untold.
She learns of oceans, moons, and art,
Each wonder lighting up her heart.
Her laughter rings, a song so clear,
A melody of joy and cheer.
She paints her world in colours bright,
In hues of hope and fearless light.
A dancer twirling in the breeze,
She speaks to flowers, climbs the trees.
But whispers float upon the air—
Of things unfair, of pain, despair.
She hears the cries on streets not far,
The hush of fear beneath each star.
“Be careful,” echoes through the door,
“Don’t speak too loud,” “Don’t ask for more.”
She hides her sparkle, just a bit,
Unsure if dreams and truth still fit.
Still—
Her heart is strong, her wings are wide,
With courage curled up deep inside.
She knows the world is sharp and real,
But dares to hope, to dream, to feel.
So with a steady, rising flight,
She soars through day and braves the night.
Both joy and fear will mark her way—
But still, she chooses TO FLY each day.
