Karwachauth Special ๐Ÿ’ซ

By

For days now, Karwachauth posts have been flooding social media, each with strong opinions. So, hereโ€™s mine.

Iโ€™m neither very religious nor completely atheist, but I love celebrating Karwachauth. Itโ€™s one of the beautiful ways I choose to express my love for my husband. Contrary to what some say, I donโ€™t fast to show off heavy jewellery or expensive sarees, thatโ€™s not my style.

I know many will ask: Why should only women express love? Why just one day for love?
First, Karwachauth is one of many ways to express love. If you celebrate Valentineโ€™s Day, why not Karwachauth too? And yes, many men do express love on this day: some fast alongside their wives, others show love in their own ways. My husband doesnโ€™t fast because he knows itโ€™s not about tradition or obligation for me. He shows love by doing thoughtful things that make me happy.

Is one day enough to express love? No. But there are 365 days in a year, and women express feelings, love and anger, every day, even if not marked on a calendar. Men also have many special days: birthdays, anniversaries, Valentineโ€™s, and we gladly celebrate those too.

So, itโ€™s great to have opinions. It means our brains are awake. But please donโ€™t call women โ€œstupidโ€ for choosing to fast or dress up on Karwachauth. Love is personal, and every expression deserves respect.
